2021.09.22 03:31 HiddenGooru SPY and Gamma Squeezes

Hey guy
I come to you to discuss a rather interesting development in the markets! In short: SPY is in a gamma squeeze, and not a good one like last time.
This post will be relatively lengthy, as I am going to try to lay out my system as well as the interpretation of it. But there will be a lot of pictures. I don't usually post about SPY, but rather other stocks that are in Reddit's sphere of interest at the time. But the changes on SPY are worth mentioning to you guys.
Let's start with what I do: I look at price directing forces on a stock and quantify them. Certain stocks and certain characteristics, so each time I do this its particular to the given stock. I developed a metric to do this called VoEx - its aim is to show when a stock is over exposed to certain price-directing agents that can cause characteristic, deterministic, and predictable consequences.
So, let's look at VoEx for SPY:

SPY for 2021-09-20. VoEx-daily is Magenta, VoEx-trend is tan, blue is SPY's price. The horizontal lines are the inhibition line (top), and the propagation line (bottom).
This is VoEx. The magenta line is VoEx-daily, the tan line in VoEx-tan, and the blue line is the price of SPY. There are two horizontal lines as well, these are the inhibition line (top), and propagation line (bottom). The idea is that when VoEx is between these two lines: all is well. But when VoEx is outside of these lines, all is not well.
You'll notice several things:

  1. When VoEx-daily (magenta) experiences a significant spike into the inhibition zone (above inhibition line), the price falls; where:
    1. There is a loose association with the strength and duration of the spike and the subsequent price-reversion
  2. It is not uncommon for VoEx-daily to dip into the propagation zone (bottom horizontal bar),
  3. It is very uncommon for VoEx-trend to dip into the propagation zone.
In fact, the only other time on this graph that VoEx-trend dipped into the propagation zone was February 2020.
There are those who suggest the market crash in 2020 was purely because of Covid. To that I have this to show:

VoEx for SPY from 2018-2020
You'll, again, notice that VoEx-trend dipping into the propagation zone is never a good thing.
To demonstrate how significant this is, here are some other VoEx graphs:
Here's BABA:

VoEx for BABA on 2021-09-20
You'll notice that VoEx-trend slipped into the propagation zone around Feb of 2020 - and BABA hasn't done well since.
Same with EDU:

VoEx for EDU on 2021-09-20
Here's TSLA:
VoEx for TSLA on 2021-09-20
Naturally, these, however, are single stocks - not an entire Market-wide ETF.
To add to matters, SPY is currently in a gamma squeeze to the tune of almost 12 million shares per point.
One of the things I do is directionalize options; I can place them as dealer long or dealer short. So getting a grasp of delta is pretty handy at times. Want to see how this affects SPY's price?

Hedging matrix for SPY 2021-09-20. The hedging matrix shows the amount of shares that have to be purchased (+) or sold (-) per point move in price and IV.
This shows that for every point decrease and IV increase in SPY, 12 million shares must be sold. Yesterday alone saw a 7 point price depreciation and a 5 point increase in IV that equated to: 137,493,216 shares that had to be sold. Yesterday's gamma squeeze on SPY was less than it was today.
So in short - historically VoEx-trend dipping into the propagation line has been met with market corrections/crashes.
Happy trading!

2021.09.22 03:31 UnheardJax I figured out how to win most top lane matchups.

Hail of Blades and take E at level one, max it first after you put one in all other abilities. My previously most difficult matchups, Irelia and Sylas, stood no chance with this rune. It’s kinda stupid how good it is. It’s not just good against them, however, as it continues to help me with other champs top lane, too. It counters Teemo, also, because if you just wait for the blind to wear off, you slow him and prevent him from running.
Hail of Blades on Cho’Gath is great, IMO. What do you guys think?

2021.09.22 03:31 Tasty_Stress_5755 Sleep and reading

This is something I never considered writing until now because I didn't think it was related and I still don't know but I figured I would give a chance and ask. Sometimes the problems are related to something expected. And sometimes their not.
So I've not been yet diagnosed with us and I want to be very clear I don't know if I have it. But I want to ask this question to you those who do: Has any of you ever experienced when reading getting tired [sleepy] Is after reading the 1st 2 pages of a book? And if so can you explain why and how you experince it? Thanks.
And no way here to judge I have this problem myself. Nobody's ever been able to tell me what it was and I'm wondering if it might be associated.

2021.09.22 03:31 shizizzle101 For beginners: liquid vs powder makeup?

My goal is to achieve a 'no-makeup'/'model off-duty' makeup look, and I was wondering, do you guys think liquid or powder makeup is easier to work with for beginners?
I keep seeing tons of ads for both liquid and powder blush/contoueye makeup, and in makeup tutorials it seems people use both.. In your experience, which type is more forgiving?
As a side note I have dehydrated/oily skin, I'm thinking skin type would have something to do with it?

2021.09.22 03:31 ThreadRipper320 Review of Coin Bureau Video - OnChain Analysis: 101 Guide to Get The MARKET EDGE!! 🔍

In the video, Guy has mentioned so called truly decentralised smart contract blockchain platform Ethereum and used etherscan.io as a tool to do the on-chain analysis. Although somewhere towards the end, he did break his ice by saying that due to the high gas fee projects are moving towards the centralised and single team controlled blockchains like Solana ;).
Link to the video: https://youtu.be/pk1MyzlhBJk
Back to the video, he starts with the introduction of what an on-chain analysis is and how we can track the crypto currency metrics real time. Here is his definition - “on-chain analysis involves tracking cryptocurrency transactions”. Probably some of us already knew and have been checking/tracking the holders count, funds movements and top wallets in etherscan.io but not everyone.
He then covers on-chain analysis for the large cryptos like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Doge coin etc. He mentions that we can use https://bitinfocharts.com for a few key on-chain metrics. Some of them are, how the coins are distributed. He gives an example by comparing BTC distribution with DOGE’s where top wallet of the DOGE contains majority of the coins which can bring the price down when the top wallet decides to sell. He also talks about multi signature wallets which are typically used by the institutional investors, monitoring these wallets will also give insights about what’s going on.
He goes on to talk about analysis for mid/small alt coins where he mentions to do your best to find as many blockchain explores as possible for the crypto currency. He reasons that default blockchain explorers doesn’t show all the metrics. This is in fact true, if you see any of the Solana explorers (tools), you can hardly find any info about holders. He mentions that if the project is legit they shouldn’t hide any info from their hodlers (provided the blockchain ecosystem has correct tools in the first place).
He explains on-chain analysis for the proof of stake, he mentions that sometimes staking contracts may hide real distribution of a coin or token as its hard to figure out which wallet owns the staked coins. This will have a huge effect on the price as someone can unstake and sell on the market. This is a huge risk for Cardano as there is no unbounding period, one can unstake and sell immediately. This is safe with other blockchains like Crypto.org Chain, Polkadot etc. where they have unbouding period of 28 days, that means one can’t be able to sell for at least 28 days from performing the unstaking.
Next, he turns his attention to how an on-chain analysis can be performed for the Proof of Work blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum. He states that exchange balance is the criteria, low exchange balance means there will be a higher price volatility. He mentions that “Even though the crypto market hasn’t been looking all that hot lately, exchange balances of BTC and ETH continue to drop”
He finally talks about Validators, Hash rate and Nodes. He mentions that becoming a validator requires a lot of time, effort and money and if not careful validators get slashed. When there are more validators showing interest for a given proof of stake blockchain that means that there are many rich people who believe in the long-term potential of the project. He then explains what is an Has rate - “hash rate is basically the amount of computing power connected to a cryptocurrency blockchain”. He mentions that there is relatively high correlation with the price of the coin being mined. He then talks about set up of the crypto mining operation and how expensive is to run one.
Good Stuff: 1. Some interesting points about how an on-chain analysis can be performed. E.g: Looking for the wallet address in google, using some free/ paid tools. 2. How the on-chain analysis is different for various Blockchains (for Proof of Work, Proof of Stake etc..) 3. What does moving in/out of funds from exchange means to the over all crypto market. 4. Touch ups on Validators, Hash Rate & Mining Operations. 5. On-chain analysis for the proof of stake and how blockchains not having unbouding period can have serious impact on the prices. 6. These tools can’t be taken for granted as we never know what can happen in the Crypto market.
Not so good Stuff: 1. Chrome/Firefox extension downloads of a wallet can’t be taken as a tangible metric, as it can easily be altered. 2. He didn’t convey that there are now AMM solutions which can be used by whales to off load their bags into stable coins without going to any centralised exchanges.
Final Verdict: It’s an interesting video for a little to medium tech savvy people to use the mentioned on-chain analysis tools for understanding the dynamics of the market. Its a must watch. For advance blockchain users, you know what to do ;).
Thanks to u/Reasonable_Lie3383 for helping to improve my writing style.
