2021.09.22 03:56 ixdubu Question
Hello! So my local Costco sells quest 2 set with the spacer, silicone thing needed because of recall and the travel case for $399.99 USD. I did a bit of research and saw that if you buy the things separately (from different places) it would be roughly $50 cheaper. Which store should my family buy it from (Costco or GameStop/Other store)?

2021.09.22 03:56 meghan751 Closing the Pool for the Off Season?
Hi all, turning to this great group again for some Vegas living advice: do people close their pools during the off season?
I have a pool guy (he's very good, like him and his team a ton although will probably be taking over maintenance next season) and he told me people leave their pools open year round. As a northeastern native, this shocks me. I was preparing to buy a pool cover and batten down the hatches until spring. Seems like a slight waste of power (running the filter) and money (maintaining it), but not sure what's customary here.
Thanks, in advance!

2021.09.22 03:56 Plunderberg [Discussion] Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Budget Pick-ups
There's a lot to pick through, especially with Collector Boosters and such dropping singles prices so much for standard cards. What are you guys looking at? Here’s a list of what I [[consider]] (heh) a worthy pickup for $1.50 USD or less at time of posting this. I’ll try to find cards that go in the 99, and (usually) avoid build-around legendaries or tribal cards. If you want those, you already know it.
[[Dennick, Pious Apprentice]]: Sitting at $1.47, he’s the most expensive card on our list. For 2 mana you get a 2/3 lifelink that disrupts targeted reanimation spells and some graveyard shenanigans, then on the backside a 4-mana 3/2 investigate engine. Not incredibly impactful, but two useful effects in a pretty slender package.
[[Bloodline Culling]]: More conditional than the usual 3-CMC black removal we tend to get, but the option to blow up a ton of x/2 Elf/Human/whatever tokens for 3 mana at instant speed could come up in some metas. If there’s an Elf guy at your LGS, possibly worth tacking onto a TCG player order or something someday, though I think the price will only go down from here.
[[Dire-Strain Rampage]]: Flashback artifact/enchantment destruction is great and all, but I wouldn’t leave home without at least a single targeted land destruction effect in my EDH deck, and this can do it twice for one card, or just play fun-police about problematic artifacts or enchantments.
[[Mask of Griselbrand]]: It’s no Griselbrand himself, of course, but this thing is just a solid piece of equipment to have around. Giving evasion and lifelink is nice, and the worst feels to come out of a Voltron strategy are your big guy getting killed. Now you can draw off of it and feel a bit less bad.
[[Siphon Insight]]: “Play your stuff” tribal is a viable strategy for people who want to play exactly at their meta’s level, and this is a good rate to punish the everloving hell out of tutoring and topdeck manipulation.
[[Sludge Monster]]: “Removal” is a tricky subject in monoblue, but this thing turns at least one thing into a vanilla bear for a while as a floor. One problem being, if it gets removed, they turn back into normal creatures. Pretty fair flicker target though, and can be nice if you’re able to protect it.
[[Galvanic Iteration]]: This might be the best [[Fork]] effect we’re ever likely to get. Aggressively costed on both halves? Yeah, seems worth it for less than a buck.
[[Croaking Counterpart]]: I think everyone is at least partially aware of this card, but it is still worth pointing out how cheap it is. Many creatures have worthy ETBs, static, or activated abilities, and this works well in the aforementioned “Play your stuff” meta-adaptation strategy. Also it makes frogs, which is sweet.
[[Mystic Skull]]: 2 mana for a filtering artifact isn’t good, but the flip-side of this card is absolutely tasty. For your “budget” 3-5 color manabases, this is a colorless way to turn on every land, and that’s worth considering for less than 50 cents.
[[Cathartic Pyre]]: Looting is pretty good in strategies that want it, and sometimes you’ve just *got* to kill an x/3. Neither mode is amazing, but they’re both going to be passable in the right decks.
[[Grafted Identity]]: Stealing stuff is pretty good, and this is a low CMC for that kind of effect. Sacrificing a creature is trivial in the right strategies, especially if what you’re stealing was going to block your dweeb and kill it anyways.
[[Ambitious Farmhand]]: It’s a 2 mana 1/1, that costs a lot to flip into a 3/3 with lifelink. That doesn’t matter much, the real deal here is the unconditional land tutoring that still functions when it’s flickered or reanimated.
[[Jack-o’-Lantern]]: It’s targeted GY exile that redraws, coupled with in-a-pinch mana fixing. The floor is absolutely just fine.
[[Siege Zombie]]: Yeah, I’d like a way to still ‘use’ creatures I hold up to block, thanks.
[[Unblinking Observer]]: You’re probably not casting many Disturb spells in your constructed deck, but a 2/1 ramp creature (for Instants and Sorceries, admittedly) in blue is cute. Not the first such effect, but an option among them.
[[Blood Pact]]: One mana more than [[Sign in Blood]] and [[Night’s Whisper]], but hey. Its instant speed, less mana-intensive than SiB, and Night’s Whisper is like 4 bucks.
[[Cathar Commando]]: Heck yeah dude, this thing isn’t going to beat down and win any races, but it’s a flash (chump) blocker that can also just prevent you from losing to some artifact/enchantment combos at instant speed.
[[Tapping at the Window]]: There are a ton of cards similar to this one, but giving the effect flashback helps put it ahead of others. You’ll struggle to find time or mana to flash it back in some formats, but I think you’ll usually get a chance at EDH tables.
[[Defend the Celestus]]: It’s a one mana cheaper, more flexible [[Incremental Growth]] at instant speed. For those of us with +1/+1 counters on the mind, it makes creatures pretty fast pretty quick.
[[Diregraf Rebirth]]: It’s a fairly on-rate reanimation effect that has flashback and punishes people for using removal during your own turn. Very okay.
[[Fleshtaker]]: If you’re in an aristocrats deck, you know it already, and you know that this card probably isn’t the sac outlet you want, though it plays a supporting role well and has a strong intimidation factor thanks to nightmare fuel art.
[[Ghoulish Procession]]: Eh, I’m not ‘super’ high on this thing, but it can come down quickly and/or cheaply enough to get you some incidental value.
[[Eaten Alive]]: Spark Harvest, except it exiles. Nice.
[[Lunarch Veteran]]: Another soul sister, that you can cast a second time for a similar effect.
[[Defenestrate]]: Style points. Play it for the memes?
[[Gavony Dawnguard]]: Reasonable body for-cost with incidental card draw in a color that wants it quite badly. You have to build around it, but in some kind of dedicated white weenie deck (or a deck with a reasonable number of hits) it’s kinda free.

2021.09.22 03:56 CantThinkofaName177 Can I use a slightly "wrong" tube size?
Probably a stupid question so I apologize in advance, but I got a puncture today and used my last replacement tube to fix it. Was going to buy some spares before my next ride but I do have a few spares from my old bike and wondering how well they would work on my current bike?
My current tube size is 700 x 25 and the spares I have are 700 x 28-34, are they any use to me? My guess is they would probably work just fine but wanted to double check before I take off for a long ride.

2021.09.22 03:56 Key-Effective-4746 Im a 15 year old looking for advice on how to move out of my abusive household
I (15F) grew up in a pretty toxic environment, both my parents are abusers and have been ever since I was young (Ive written about this topic in previous reddit posts. I was raised in a city where the majority of the population is people of colour (mostly brown people), so things like getting beatings and cruel punishment from parents were seen as the norm for kids at my school.
I always knew just to take whatever corporal punishment my parents lay upon me but the older i was getting the more and more cruel my parents got.
One example being when i got caught lying about something when i was about 11 (I won't say exactly what incase someone recognizes me) but the lie was an innocent one, I was horrified to tell my mom the truth because the only choices i was given was to either tell the truth and get beaten or have the truth beaten out of me and than beaten some more, safe to say i wasn’t a fan of any of the options, by the next morning i was covered in bruises after being pinned down and beaten.
That same night i made a vow to move out as soon as i got the chance. There were many more incidents like the first one which only confirmed my desire to move out.
I'm 15 now and and still think that this is the only option for me. I have a semi plan but i just need to know if this is just unrealistic. (BTW Im Canadian)
My plan is to take a gap year so i could move out and have a stable income before going to collage. I have a longtime friend who is in a situation where she also needs to move out (mostly for school). After a year i would apply to the school of my choice and continue to work (I have a collage fund that i will have full access to as soon as i turn 18)
Any communication with immediate family will be cut off but other family will be given a chance to have a relationship with me unless they choose to harass me.
I have fully planned out how i plan to packup everything and go but if anyone has any advise or anything you want to warned me about, please leave a comment.
Last before I end this post I have had a couple questions

I started taking anxiety medication recently. A small dose that doesn't really do much. But I did list it on my form to take with me to the medical exam. Which I have on Friday. After seeing this sub-reddit. I'm worried. I'm not sure if I will fail because of it.. My mom passed away and I have been having a hard time. I was fine before. Has anyone failed because of this issue? Now I'm worried about the drug test. 😕
