2021.12.01 20:55 Leanker Weekly Questions Megathread
Ask questions here.
This thread is made to help with individual account-related questions so the sub isn't full of them. If you have a question that's relevant for everyone, feel free to post it separately for discussion - and if in doubt, feel free to ask here for advice.
With the launch, everyone in the community is very thankful for any kind of help here. I'd like this to be a cool sub, and we more than welcome new guide makers and content creators. If you're still left with questions feel free to check the stickied thread for other sources of information, and good luck! :)

2021.12.01 20:55 thom_ftc The *true* value of your CD collection...
...is the enjoyment you get from listening to it, IMO. Having said that, if you have your collection in Discogs, what is the *most* valuable disc you have, and what is the *least* valuable disc you have.
For me, the least valuable, based on sorting by "median price" is 'Stunt' by Barenaked Ladies, which has a lowest price of .40, an average of .75, and a highest price of 1.91. I paid a dollar for it at the thrift store, some I'm out .25 cents.
The most valuable, also based on sorting by "median price" (but also most expensive if you sort by 'highest price') is the deluxe edition of 'Blind Faith', by Blind Faith. I think I've recovered my .25 cents from the Barenaked Ladies disc because the lowest price for this disc is $20.00, the average is $26, and the highest price it's sold for is $40. I paid two dollars for it at the thrift store.
(Note: this is just for fun...much like eBay, I take those 'Discogs values' with a huge grain of salt.)

2021.12.01 20:55 MasterBricks I Need a C++ Guru
C867 is kicking my butt and I can't seem to wrap my head around the code after dozens of hours of watching YouTube, taking a Udemy course, and reaching out to my instructor (at no fault of his, he's the best instructor I've had the pleasure of speaking with).
Is there anyone who knows C++ rather well and would be willing to sit down and go over my project with me?
You would be absolute life saver 🙏

2021.12.01 20:55 jma7400 Animal Facebook, Instagram, etc pages made as the animals is weird.
Posting pictures of your pets is normal. What I feel is weird is Your cat having its own Facebook page and the owner replying to comment as the animal. I also find it weird that other animal owners will comment as their pet. Pets are family but don’t need a Facebook page if you have one and post pictures of them.

2021.12.01 20:55 Fyreborn When does physics consider an electron a ball, or a cloud, or a probability distribution?
I have read people authoritatively state that an electron is not a solid particle like a billiard ball. However, this article seems to indicate otherwise: https://futurism.com/electron-edm-experiment
So, what is our intuitive answer to the question? In all artists’ impressions of the atom, we see the electron depicted as a small shiny sphere orbiting the nucleus, so a reasonable guess would be to say that the electron is a snookebilliard ball shape and according to the experiment of a joint project between physicists in Yale and Harvard known as ACME (Advanced Cold Molecule Electron-EDM), that is very close to the truth so full marks if you got that, and commiserations to anyone who was hoping the electron was going to be shaped like anything more exciting. Also this article: https://phys.org/news/2013-12-electron-shapeliness-supersymmetry.html
A small band of particle-seeking scientists at Yale and Harvard has established a new benchmark for the electron's almost perfect roundness, raising doubts about certain theories that predict what lies beyond physics' reigning model of fundamental forces and particles, the Standard Model.I have read elsewhere that an electron is actually a cloud, or, that it is a probability distribution cloud of locations. I've also seen it said that the way an electron is thought of, is dependent on the situation.
...In research published Dec. 19 in Science Express, the team reported the most precise measurement to date of the electron's shape, improving it by a factor of more than 10 and showing the particle to be rounder than predicted by some extensions of the Standard Model, including some versions of Supersymmetry.
...Researchers said they have shown that the electron's departure from spherical perfection—if it exists at all—must be smaller than predicted by many theories proposing particles the Standard Model doesn't account for. If the electron's shape is too round, many of these theories will be proven wrong, they said.

2021.12.01 20:55 deadlymoogle Car insurance just went from 80 a month to 440, help please.
Within the past month both me and my wife got speeding tickets and she was in a minor fender bender. My policy just renewed thru Geico and the monthly payment went from 80 to 440. The speeding tickets were in Iowa and they don't have stop classes. Has anyone else been in a situation like this? This is devastating financially for us and we're panicking.

2021.12.01 20:55 pugsandkisses2020 Help please
Last month we got our 2 and a half year old pug a pug sister (a puppy) the puppy has been with us for a month and my other pug doesn’t seem to like her that much.
She snaps at her, she pretends to bite her when the puppy tries to actually bite her and doesn’t like being bothered by the puppy and she gets upset around snacks or treats she chased the puppy away before at feeding time. My pug is a very sweet and friendly dog to other dogs so I never anticipated any problems. I only got the puppy so that she would have company but I’m not sure she’s happy with the fact we have another dog. I wonder if I should keep the new puppy or rehome her
It’s not all bad the puppy seems to love her and curls up next to her and sometimes they nap together.
